An IBM Maximo & MAS foundation add-on, deployed from the outset.

MaxIron Blueprint installs a pre-configured, version-controlled Maximo foundation on day one — core applications, workflows, security, domains, automation, start centres, reports and supporting process structure, refined across live production estates. The project starts from a proven baseline instead of a blank sheet, and design effort goes to what is actually specific to your operation: data, integrations and client-specific priorities.

An add-on, not a project deliverable

Blueprint is distributed as an IBM Maximo and MAS add-on. It is installed on the platform from the outset of an engagement and registered against the environment the same way IBM ships Maximo itself: as a product, with a version, an upgrade path and a change record. It is not a document set, not a starter kit, and not a phase of an implementation. It is software that arrives already configured.

What it changes about your programme

The conventional way to set up Maximo is a multi-month design-and-build phase, run by senior consultants, repeated on every programme. The output varies by team, by mood and by sponsor pressure. Blueprint replaces that phase with a proven operating foundation. Three things land for the buyer:

  • Mobilisation accelerates. The environment is operational on day one, not after months of foundational design. Workshops, training and integration work can start against a real, configured Maximo immediately.
  • Design risk reduces. The foundation is not being invented. It has been refined across live production estates, in sectors that look like yours, and the parts that are easy to get wrong are already right.
  • Project focus shifts to what is actually unique. Client-specific priorities, your data, your integrations and your audit obligations get the attention. Standard capability is not rebuilt from scratch for the hundredth time.

What arrives on day one

When Blueprint is installed, your Maximo or MAS environment already has:

  • A complete application and screen layer tuned for asset-intensive operations, not a vanilla install
  • An operational workflow library covering work, approvals, status and lifecycle paths the way mature operators run them
  • Security groups, roles and access aligned to how planners, supervisors, technicians, contractors and auditors actually work
  • Domains, automation scripts and process scaffolding for the recurring rules every Maximo programme rebuilds from scratch
  • Start centres, reports, KPIs and reference data structures that make adoption and audit reviews possible from week one
  • An integration-ready posture — the keys, naming and structures expected by the systems Maximo will exchange data with

All of it installed together as a single add-on, registered against Maximo, version-tracked, with a known history.

Built like a Maximo product, not a documentation set

Because Blueprint is shipped as a versioned product on the platform, every change to the foundation has an author, a sequence and a release. That is what makes it safe to install in production estates, safe to upgrade alongside MAS, and safe to put in front of an auditor. It is also what makes estates built on Blueprint cheaper and safer to support, upgrade and audit over the ten-year life of the investment.

The operating discipline matters as much as the content. Every estate built on Blueprint follows the same shape, which is what makes support, upgrades and second-line operations economical at scale rather than artisanal.

Tailored, not locked

Blueprint is the foundation, not the ceiling. We tailor it to your sector, processes and integrations during the engagement, and every change made on top is yours and tracked in the same version-controlled discipline. You inherit a proven baseline; you do not inherit somebody else's straitjacket.

Where it fits in your Maximo programme

Blueprint is most often paired with IBM Maximo implementation, where it removes the riskiest and most repetitive early phase. It pairs naturally with Maximo to MAS upgrade programmes, where it brings the upgraded estate up to a modern standard instead of re-platforming yesterday's design. Customers running on MaxIron's managed hosting get Blueprint as the default foundation, and it is the natural counterpart to configuration-first delivery: most of the configuration is already there, done well, on day one.

MaxIron Blueprint — frequently asked questions

What exactly is MaxIron Blueprint?
An IBM Maximo and MAS foundation add-on by MaxIron, deployed from the outset of an engagement. Core applications, workflows, security roles, domains, automation, start centres, reports and supporting process structure are delivered as a single, pre-configured, version-controlled baseline — refined across live production environments and installed on day one rather than designed from a blank sheet.
How is this different from a starter pack or template?
A template is a document. Blueprint is a registered Maximo product with its own version, upgrade path and change history. It is installed, versioned and supported the same way IBM ships product updates, which is why it survives MAS releases and audits as a first-class part of the estate.
Does Blueprint replace our solution design?
It changes what design has to cover. With Blueprint installed, the design phase concentrates on what is genuinely specific to your operation, your assets and your integrations. Most of the configuration that would otherwise consume early sprints is already in place and proven.
Will Blueprint slow down our upgrades to MAS?
No. Because Blueprint is delivered as configuration, supported scripting and a registered Maximo product, it follows MAS releases cleanly. Estates built on Blueprint are easier to upgrade than estates built up from a vanilla install over years of ad-hoc change.
Can we customise Blueprint?
Yes. Blueprint is the foundation, not the ceiling. We tailor it to your sector, processes and integrations, and every change made on top is yours and tracked in the same versioned discipline.
Is Blueprint available without a MaxIron-led implementation?
It is most valuable as part of a MaxIron implementation, upgrade or managed estate, but we can supply Blueprint to customers running their own delivery, with MaxIron specialists supporting installation, tailoring and lifecycle management.
