    Transport and airports

    Situation

    Terminal and airside assets held on separate records, inside a safety case that stayed in force while the work happened.

    What changed

    IBM MAS 9 on Red Hat OpenShift in Microsoft Azure across terminal and airside in 9 months, with a multizone architecture MaxIron designed and implemented, mobile execution and building management integrated. The permit system retained issuance and approval authority.

    IBM Maximo 7.6 on ageing infrastructure, a year-round timetable, and one usable cutover window before a fixed support date.

    MAS 9.0.1 in 7 months, with the database converted from SQL Server to DB2 inside the same programme, through one planned production outage.

Match the delivery requirement and agree the introduction

A reference conversation adds the client’s perspective on delivery, decisions and continuing operation. The published case brief provides the scope for that discussion.

  1. 1. Establish a comparable engagement

    State the services, current platform, number of sites, operating constraints and questions the evaluation needs to resolve. MaxIron identifies the closest relevant engagement and its scope boundaries.

  2. 2. Obtain client permission

    The client decides whether to accept the introduction, the information that can be discussed and any NDA requirement.

  3. 3. Agree the conversation

    The conversation follows the client’s availability and agreed subjects. Technical due diligence also requires assessment of your estate’s configuration, interfaces and acceptance criteria.

Questions during client evaluation

Can we request a client reference?
We identify a comparable engagement during evaluation, ask the client for permission and agree the format and subjects for the conversation. An NDA applies where the engagement requires it.
Which sectors have published client work?
The six published engagements cover airports, maritime transport, oil and gas, gas distribution, building materials and industrial services. A delivery requirement may also match work from another sector; the comparison needs to consider the scope and operating constraints.
How should we compare programme timings?
Published durations belong to the estate described. Your scope depends on the current platform, customisations, interfaces, data readiness and available production windows. Multi-year specialist work differs from a programme with a single go-live date.
